Cosmetic Dentistry in NW, Calgary

Research from the Canadian Dental Association shows that your oral health habits have an impact on your physical, mental and social well-being. Poor oral health habits can affect you in many ways.

Bad oral health habits can lead to many cosmetic issues with your teeth as well. It’s hard to feel confident when your teeth don’t look the way you desire.

Your dentist can help you improve your oral health, and they can also help you improve your self-confidence through the use of cosmetic dentistry. Your dental team can prevent and treat dental problems, and then they can conceal or reverse signs of damage with cosmetic dentistry.

Your dentist will ensure that all oral health needs have been addressed before moving onto fixing the appearance of your smile through cosmetic dentistry.

Calgary dentists have the ability to do many things through this specialized field. Here are just a few of the things that can be treated through cosmetic dentistry in Calgary.

    • Smiles with too much gum showing
    • Missing teeth
    • Discolored or stained teeth
    • Chipped teeth
    • Crooked teeth
    • Missing teeth

Benefits of Cosmetic Dentistry

While there is no replacement for good oral health and dental hygiene practices, cosmetic dentistry has an important role to play and can provide many benefits. Some things you can expect as a result of your cosmetic dentistry treatments are:

    • Repair and Restoration: Cosmetic dentistry seeks to improve the appearance of your teeth and your smile. If you have damaged teeth because of an accident or dental trauma or because your teeth didn’t properly develop, cosmetic dentistry can help.
    • Better Function: Even if there is no apparent damage to your teeth, they can sometimes function poorly. By applying veneers or dental implants, your dentist can help your mouth function and feel better.
    • Visible Results: Dental treatments like root canal therapy are often done below the surface and, while they certainly provide relief, they don’t change anything you can see. With cosmetic dentistry, you can see the changes that have been made.
    • Self-Confidence Booster: Your smile is often the first thing people notice about you, so when it’s not looking its best, it can make you self-conscious. When you know you have a beautiful smile, you are more likely to project an image of self-confidence.
    • Improved Oral Hygiene: Once your smile has been improved, you are likely to take even better care of your teeth, which will improve your oral health. This can help prevent many other issues from developing over time.
